Founded in 1993 as Kansas City’s first self-service dog wash, U-Wash Puppy began with a mother-and-son team who saw an opportunity to bring a new style of pet care to the community. Inspired by a similar concept in California, they launched a space where dog owners could conveniently bathe their pets in a clean, supportive environment—something the city had never seen before.

In 2015, the business was purchased by new ownership, continuing the founders’ vision while enhancing the experience for modern pet owners. Today, U-Wash Puppy remains committed to its mission: cleaning up dirty puppies and helping families keep their dogs looking and feeling their best without unnecessary expense.

Meredith Green DeNoon is the Owner and Operator of U-Wash Puppy, bringing more than a decade of business ownership and over 15 years of hands-on experience working with animals. Before taking over U-Wash Puppy, Meredith ran a successful cleaning business for five years and later worked for an insurance tracking company, developing a strong foundation in operations, customer service, and team leadership.

Her journey into the pet care industry began as a customer, regularly bringing both personal and foster dogs to U-Wash Puppy. Recognizing her passion and commitment, the previous owner approached her about assuming ownership. Following several difficult family losses, Meredith felt called to make a meaningful change and saw the opportunity as a way to support both her livelihood and her community.

Beyond her role at U-Wash Puppy, Meredith is deeply involved in animal rescue. She fosters and volunteers with Rescue K-911, a foster-based dog and cat rescue in Kansas City. Her dedication to animal welfare, combined with her professional experience and hands-on approach, shapes the compassionate, community-focused environment U-Wash Puppy is known for.
